Improve Transition Outcomes for Youth with Exceptionalities

The Certificate of Graduate Study (C.G.S.) in transition for youth with exceptionalities is a 15-credit, two-year program designed to prepare professionals to implement effective, research-based transition practices to improve transition outcomes for youth with exceptionalities. The C.G.S. was driven by regional need and was developed in collaboration with the Sherlock Center on Disabilities. The program's purpose is to extend the knowledge and skills of professionals and ultimately the capacity of professionals, school districts, community providers, etc. to effectively support Rhode Island youth as they transition to post-school life.

This program is offered in collaboration with the Paul. V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities. Applications for admission will not be processed until all materials have been received by the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but to ensure consideration for fall matriculation, please submit complete applications by May 1.

Here we provide additional information on admission requirements, course requirements and course descriptions.
