Why Communication? | Why Our Program?
- Our program prepares students for careers in media (TV, video, podcasting/radio, streaming, social, journalism, sports, entertainment and digital) as well as advertising (marketing, public relations).
- Our two minors in communication and digital media production allow students in other disciplines to augment their education.
- Students may gain hands-on experience in our on-campus multimedia production studio and join our student-run media organizations: The Anchor (newspaper), ANCHOR-TV and WXIN (radio).
- Topics covered in the include: advertising, media ethics, social media communication, audio production, digital video production and sports reporting.
Students learn by doing with many project-based courses and real-world opportunities to build a portfolio of work to present to future employers and graduate schools.
