Better Understand Tuition and Fee Details

You will be assessed tuition and fees based on your student category and residence. If your permanent residence for over one year has been Rhode Island, you may apply for in-state status at the Registrar's Office in . In addition, to be considered independent of your parents, you must not have been claimed as a dependent for tax purposes for two years and you must have resided in Rhode Island for at least one year. It is your responsibility to inform the College of your status so that you are correctly charged.

All non-degree (not yet admitted to a degree program) students, undergraduate and graduate, are assessed tuition charges based on the course level. Undergraduate courses are billed at the undergraduate rate and graduate courses are billed at the graduate rate.

Summer bills are due the week before each session start date. It is your responsibility to make certain that your registration accurately reflects your enrollment intentions for the semester. Since bills are based upon enrolled credits, you should drop unwanted courses as soon as possible. Check the academic calendar for the last day to drop to receive an adjustment to charges. If you have questions regarding payment contact the Bursar鈥檚 Office at 401-456-8130 or bursar@ric.edu.
