Jim began his career working with the Key Program, an organization that assists troubled youths and their families with the development of positive life skills and offering services to more than 600 adolescents each day who come from child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice and educational systems.  In 1994, Jim became a member of the Providence Police Department and in his 30+ year career has held positions in numerous capacities within the department which have included uniform patrol emergency response, community policing activities, domestic violence investigation, and extensive experience in crime scene investigation and forensic examination.

Jim holds a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice from 麻豆原创 and a Master of Science degree from Salve Regina University. He is also currently a lead instructor for the RI State Crime Lab course in Scientific Evidence and has testified at the Federal, Superior, District, and Municipal court levels in Rhode Island. Jim is a member of several scientific organizations and has presented various workshops on crime scene documentation at regional as well as international conferences around the country.
